Hard to believe that Marion is dying. 87 years old. Hard to believe she is 87. If I did not think about her age I would of thought she was about 55. How the mind can decieve.
Go swfitly dear friend. No more pain.
I will look for you on the sunrise at the beach here in Mexico.
love,
Billy

I am a fan of Mrs. Cunningham's work, and this is sad news. Wishing her peace.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually posting here because I've owned and enjoyed Michael James' "Slow Food" for 15 years- just last week my family once again enjoyed the pork roast braised in cabbage and cream, a perennial on our table. It occurred to me to Google and see if he'd ever written anything else. How sad to hear that he was gone by the time I discovered the book, and yet how good that he lives on in it. It's seldom that one book gives such a window into the writer's love for life and people as well as for food. His portraits of his friends are as memorable as the recipes. My sympathies to you on a loss you write about with vivid feeling and love.
